FUENGIROLA
Van zijn oorsprong als een klein vissersdorp, is Fuengirola nu een van de grootste steden aan de Costa del Sol en ook een van de belangrijkste kusten en toeristische bestemming. Grotendeels in de natuur, bestaat de stad uit een totaal van 76.000 inwoners (25% van die hoofdzakelijk Europese buitenlanders) en is een bijenkorf van activiteit, met de drukke straten vol met up-market tapas bars, winkels, restaurants en nachtclubs.
Fuengirola is een bruisende metropool met een fantastische 8km uitgestrekte strand, een schilderachtige haven en een recent opnieuw ontworpen centrale plein, Plaza de la Constitución, die het hele jaar door met zowel de lokale bevolking en toeristen bruist de bemonstering van de lokale keuken en browsen in de omliggende boetieks. Het plein is een betoverende ontmoetingsplek voor familie en vrienden tijdens festiviteiten zoals het jaarlijkse Fuengirola zomer Feria, Kerstmis en Nieuwjaar wanneer het helemaal is gekleed in uitgebreide verlichting en ornamenten en de hele stad neemt deel aan de straat feesten en explodeert in zang en dans.

The square is an enchanting meeting place for family and friends during festivities such as the annual Fuengirola summer Feria, Christmas and New Year when it is all dressed up in elaborate lights and ornaments and the whole town participates in street parties and explodes in song and dance.
Located just a 40-minute drive from Malaga airport, the city connects the Costa del Sol with most European destinations and is a short drive from charming coastal towns such as La Cala and Benalmadena.
